Each species in this new (2023) softcover handbook has two full pages, including photographs of adults, fully updated detailed distribution maps (to 5 x 5 km2 UTM squares) and sections that discuss:

· key pointers to identification

Each family section is introduced by a page on which undersides of all Cyprus representatives of the family are grouped, enabling easy identification.

In addition to the spectacular Papilio demoleus (Lime Swallowtail), illustrated on the front cover, 2023 saw the arrival in Cyprus of Belenois aurota (Caper White) and, for the first time in 87 years, Hypolimnas misippus (False Plain Tiger), the female of which is a mimic of Danaus chrysippus (Plain Tiger).
